This was the permanent mode's debut, taking players back to Fortnite's bare-bones earliest days. The map was sparse, the meta was rough, and Tilted Towers didn't even exist yet, that came in Season 2. Double Pump made its return, headlining the whole launch. The 45-tier OG Pass brought three remixed early-era skins: Renegade Rebel, Aerial Assault Bomber, and Skull Commander. Separately, Epic ran a special OG Season Shop that brought back the genuine original Renegade Raider and Aerial Assault Trooper outfits for the first time since 2017, unlockable through XP thresholds rather than a straight purchase. Given how rare those two skins have always been, that alone made this a landmark season for longtime players, on top of just getting the earliest version of the island back.
