Alles over Fortnite Festival Season 1: The Weeknd

Fortnite Festival launched on December 9, 2023, during the Big Bang live event, bringing a whole new rhythm game mode to Fortnite. The Weeknd was the debut Icon, unlockable through the Festival Pass in two outfit styles, black-suited and white-suited. Players got two ways to play: the Main Stage for classic note-highway gameplay, and the Jam Stage for looser mashup sessions. The launch library came with 34 Jam Tracks from artists like Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga, Fall Out Boy, Kendrick Lamar, Olivia Rodrigo, and PSY. This is the season that started it all.

Season 1 leaned into The Weeknd's moody, nocturnal pop aesthetic, all black and white with sharp suited looks. The whole season doubled as a big reveal moment for the mode, so the theme was less about a deep narrative and more about announcing "this is what Fortnite Festival is." The Rift Rock and Stellar Burst Auras tied into the wider Chapter 5 launch aesthetic happening in Battle Royale at the same time, giving the season a cosmic, opening-night feel.
