A neon, futuristic makeover swept across the post-volcano island. Neo Tilted replaced the classic Tilted Towers look, Mega Mall took over for Retail Row, and Pressure Plant rose up on the old volcano site as a new industrial POI. Slipstream wind tunnels and Air Vents give players fast, fall-damage-free ways to get around, letting you move, shoot, and even build while airborne, making this the most Zero Build-friendly OG season so far. The OG Pass features Dragonheart Demi, Neo Future Rox, and Spectral Devourer, that last one hinting at what's coming: the season is building toward a recreation of The Final Showdown, the classic Mecha-versus-Devourer live event, with the kaiju threat emerging from a melting Polar Peak.

A futuristic society rebuilt after the volcano's eruption, all neon signage and sleek industrial design layered over the familiar map shapes underneath. Since this is the only Season 9 that has ever existed in Fortnite's history (no later chapter made it that far), it carries a bit of extra significance as the true final chapter of the original Chapter 1 run, with the looming Devourer threat setting up what should be one of the biggest events OG mode has attempted yet.
