Fortnite Festival Season 14 is here, and it brings a big change of pace. This time the headliner is Laufey, a jazz-pop singer, and the season adds two features that fans have wanted for ages: singing with a real mic and playing with a real drum kit.
The season is called Emberlight, and it's live right now. This guide breaks down who Laufey is, when the season runs, what's in the Music Pass, and how the new performance tools work. Let's dive in.
What is Fortnite Festival?
If you mostly play Battle Royale, Festival might be new to you. Fortnite Festival is a rhythm mode built into Fortnite, kind of like Guitar Hero or Rock Band inside the game.
You pick a song, hit the notes as they scroll down the highway, and score points on lead guitar, bass, drums, vocals, or keys. It's free to play, and it uses the same skins and account you already have.
Fortnite Festival Season 14 release date
Season 14 started on April 16, 2026, and runs until July 29, 2026. So if you're reading this before the end of July, you still have time to grab the pass and unlock the rewards before they're gone.
Once the season ends, a new headliner takes over, and the current pass rewards go away. That's how every Festival season works, so don't wait too long if you want the Laufey items.
Who is Laufey, the Season 14 headliner?

Laufey (say it "LAY-vay") is an Icelandic-Chinese singer known for a modern take on jazz and pop. She's a two-time Grammy winner, and her soft, smooth style is pretty different from past Festival headliners.
That difference is the whole point this season. Instead of loud rock or big pop anthems, Emberlight leans into slower, jazzy songs, which makes the new singing feature feel right at home.
The Emberlight Music Pass: rewards and skins

Every Festival season has a Music Pass, and Season 14's is called the Emberlight Music Pass. It's included for all Fortnite Crew members, and signing up gives you the White Dress Laufey Outfit right away.
As you play and level up the pass, you unlock more rewards. Here's what to look out for:
White Dress Laufey Outfit: unlocked instantly for Crew members.
Laufey-themed instruments and Auras: earned as you climb the pass tiers.
"Madwoman" Jam Track: a song reward inside the pass.
Golden Era Laufey Outfit: the final tier reward, so it's the big goal to grind toward.
There's also gear in the Item Shop, separate from the pass. That includes the Lover Girl Laufey Outfit, the Mei Mei the Bunny Back Bling, and Jam Tracks and Emotes for "Lover Girl" and "Tough Luck".
Jam tracks: the Season 14 setlist
Season 14 added 35 new Jam Tracks to the game. Jam Tracks are the songs you can play in Festival and also use in the Jam Stage to mix music with friends.
Several Laufey songs joined the lineup this season, including "Madwoman" in the pass and "Lover Girl" and "Tough Luck" in the shop. Many of her tracks also work with the new karaoke-style singing, so you can perform the vocals yourself.
Because the setlist is large and Epic adds tracks over time, the best way to see everything currently available is to check the in-game shop and your song library. New tracks often rotate in during a season.
The big new features: sing and drum for real
This is what makes Season 14 stand out. Epic added two tools that change how you actually perform.
Mic Vocals
With Mic Vocals, you can sing along in real time using any microphone that already works in Fortnite on PC and console. The game listens to your voice and scores how well you match the song, karaoke-style.
You don't need special gear. If your mic works for voice chat, it works for singing. It's a fun way to play Laufey's slower songs, since her music is built around vocals.
Pro Drums
With Pro Drums, you can plug in a Rock Band 4 drum kit or a compatible MIDI drum set and play the drum parts on real pads. This makes the drum highway feel much closer to actually drumming.
This one is aimed at players who own drum hardware, but if you have a kit lying around, it's a big upgrade over using a controller.
Move around and Quick Mix
Two smaller updates round things out. You can now walk around and change positions freely in the Jam Ring while you play, instead of being stuck at the mic stand. And the new Quick Mix menu lets you swap or shuffle tracks fast while jamming, so you can build mashups on the fly.
Tips for getting the most out of Season 14
Want to unlock the Golden Era Laufey Outfit before the season ends? A few simple tips help:
Play daily and weekly quests. These give the most pass progress for your time.
Try Mic Vocals on Laufey songs. Her tracks are slower, which makes singing easier to learn and score well.
Play with friends in the Jam Stage. It's a relaxed way to earn progress without the pressure of a full song run.
Don't wait to buy shop items. The Lover Girl outfit and other extras can rotate out, so grab them when you see them.
